King Lear-reflecive post

Finally! Finally did we finish reading the "three plays of Shakespeare"!! Personally, i don't think the story of King Lear is a very persuasive story. How can people believe in others and some letters that came from no where so easily? But the whole play in a way also showed the different personalities one can have. Some may be greedy and cruel, but some still remain kind and loving no matter what happened. Although the play ends up being a tragedy where most of the characters died, the details and conflicts in the story make it a pretty impressive play. We also finished the test based on Shakespeare's plays on Friday. Wasn't able to finish the first question(first as in #) in time:( .It was a bit challenging, but it's always good to have some kind a challenge(not toooooooo much) in a while, right??:)

Macbeth - Reflection

We finish reading Macbeth this week- the shorten version ofcourse....which was about 25 pages. It's pretty enough to let us understand the story although all of the words Shakespear originally used were changed I suppose. The story basicly talked about land lord Macbeth who desiered of power but was too scared to seize it from others. The first plot in the story starts with three witches telling Macbeth his future. I believe this foreshadows what will happened next in the story. Eventualy Macbeth tells his wife- a controlling woman- what the witches had told him. She insists Macbeth to gain the power by killing the king. They committed the crime together and later became very nersous and scared about everything. The guilt basicly overwhelmed the couple and the story brings to an end at the point which lady Macbeth can't stand the pressure anymore and Macbeth was killed by the king's son-Macduff-out of of revenge. The play focused on how Macbeth tried to gain power and control but eventually failed. It represented the realistic side of the dark side of human nature- greedy, scardy, seize power...etc.

Romeo and Juliet-reflection

For many people, Romeo and Juliet may be considered as a classic play of the time and a

masterpiece of Shakespeare. But personally, I don't really enjoy reading tragic stories, especially

such an ironic type! The details and layouts throughout the story was pretty attractive, but the

ending was just...not my type! We actually read the shorten version, which was 25 pages I

suppose. The wordings are all not so "Shakespeare",funny, in a way.

Although the book wasn't that much of my cup of tea, but I highly recommand the play!!! The

songs are just beautiful and beyond description! Check out my links if you got any interests on

the play.:)) Click here
